Miscellaneous Tips for Gardening:

Gelatin with sugar:
Use 1 tsp per gallon of water for
helping plants maintain
green foilage and as a fertilizer to all plants. This mixture will
assist
all seedlings in their growth.
Cotton Bedsheets:
Use as a landscaping fabric to control
weeds. They are
eventually biodegradable, fight weeds and allow water to the soil. Any
color will work, but if you use a color that you do not wish to show,
just
use a mulch to cover it up.
Planting peas:
Soak peas 24 hours before planting in
the soil to increase
emergence. Also plant near a semi-shade tree at the base for decorative
touches and growth. Keep peas mulched at the base of the plant to
retain
moisture. Peas prefer cooler weather unless you plant heat resistant
peas.
Match sticks:
Lay two un-lit match sticks in ground
with pepper roots
to provide sulfur needed by the plant. This aids in growth and
production
of peppers.
Regular Soda Pop:
Spray once a month with soda for peppers
and anything
else in the pepper family. This is the same as a plant food for them.
Tin Cans:
Cut ends out of cans and stick into
ground near plants.
Leave at least ½ - ¾ of the can sticking up out of
ground.
Fill with water during dry seasons to keep plants healthy and happy.
