Thursday, 01/08/2004 DSL for Internet service is now in Paola. We have completed installing, programming and testing our hardware and we are now taking customer information for prequalifications and order entry. Once the order is placed, it takes approximately 7-10 days to be completed. If you live within the immediate Paola area (roughly within approximately 2 miles of the Paola Square) and are interested in finding out if you may qualify for DSL Internet service, please come by our office. The monthly rate for DSL Internet service is $34.95. There is NO contract or termination fee to cancel. Account activation is $50. A DSL modem kit is required and can be purchased from us for $99 or purchased someplace else on your own. For one computer the modem kit is all that is needed. For multiple computers an additional router must be purchased, again can be through MCIO or someplace else. The modem kit purchased from us includes self-install information, however on-site service is available for DSL setup at a rate of $75 per visit.
