GENERAL DSL INFO
Miami County Internet Onramp, Inc is the only LOCAL ISP capable of providing DSL Internet service in the immediate Paola area. Due to phone line technology, only customers within 16,000 copper feet of the SBC telephone office just off the Paola square are able to subscribe to this service. The same rule applies for Kansas City area customers. You must be within 16,000 copper feet of your local area telephone equipment capable of DSL in order for us to provide this service to you. You MUST be a customer of SBC's telephone service for us to provide you with DSL services.
Most customers select the Basic I level of service for DSL. With Basic I service you should receive 384Kbps to 1.5 Mbps downstream speed and 128 to 256Kbps upstream speed. Actual throughput speeds will vary. The access speed or sync rate is measured between the customer location and the DSL equipped central office. The actual speeds to the Internet will vary based on the amount of Internet traffic between the ISP (MCIO) and the Internet and the overall general speed of the Internet itself at any given time. Faster, more bandwidth, services are also available.
Your DSL service will work over your existing telephone lines and not have any effect on your normal dialtone. Meaning that you can use the DSL high speed internet service at the same time that you are talking on the same phone line at the same time with no interference. This means if you have been using a second telephone line just for dial-up Internet service, you may cancel that line, if desired. The billing with the phone company will not change as DSL services are billed by the ISP (MCIO).
OUR PRICING We have established one pricing level for our customers. Pricing - 1 year Contract is required

BUSINESS CONTACTS
For technical support questions not directed to anyone specific, you can e-mail support@micoks.net.
BEFORE CONSIDERING TECHNICAL SUPPORT - Make sure you SHUT DOWN your WINDOWS '95-98-ME-2000 computer system
using the Start, then Shut Down. After WINDOWS prompts that it's ok to turn off your computer,
TURN POWER OFF FOR 10 SECONDS. This also applies for external DSL modems and routers, if in use. After waiting 10 seconds after power down, turn the power back on to all your hardware and wait for the system to boot up and try again. BE sure to allow time for the DSL modem to show the power, DSL and network lights. Sometimes software and modems need a POWER OFF RESET. This should solve your minor problems most of the time.
If you still are having trouble, write down any error messages and contact support.
